Originally broadcasting as Liskeard FM in 2013 (and briefly as Lyskerrys Radio in 2014) the station's name eventually became Liskeard Radio in 2016.

Initially broadcasting from a room above Liskeard Carpets in Barras Street, Liskeard Radio subsequently broadcast from an even smaller room above Early's Property Lettings a few doors along before utilising an even smaller room at Liskeard School And Community College in Luxstowe Drive. After John Tovar passed away in November 2017, Hella Tovar set up a JustGiving page in John's name. Finally Liskeard Radio achieved John's dream of opening their own studio (The John Tovar Studio) in Barras Street in 2019.

In April 2014 Liskeard FM CIC was briefly set up with John Tovar and Dean Moore as directors. When Liskeard Radio Limited was set up as a limited company in May 2016 the original directors were Bryan Ugalde, James Outten, Adrian Elliott and Lucy Walker. Lucy Walker resigned months later followed by James Outten in 2018, to be replaced by Hella Tovar. In 2019 Adrian Elliott resigned to be replaced by Paul Program. In June 2023 directors Bryan Ugalde, Alex Blackwell and Paul Program all resigned.

There were twenty six DJs altogether in the Christmas schedule 2022 and seventeen local business sponsors.

The technical side of FM broadcasting was undertaken by the Reverend Mark Pengelly until he relocated to Chelmsford in 20XX when Martin Calvert took over. Martin implemented many innovations, the apps and smart speakers that were by now de rigeur as well as designing the video broadcasting set up and editing and archiving almost a thousand shows to Mixcloud.

This event was initially postponed following the implementation of the first Covid 19 lockdown. By the time restrictions ended the hotel had sadly changed hands preventing the event from happening.
